Patrick Pecker Dunne was an Irish Musician and seanchai. He was born in Castlebar, Co Mayo. His family were Irish Travellers originally from Co Wexford, where his father was a fiddle player. He was one of Ireland's most noted banjo players and was also proficient on the mandolin and fiddle.
I originally painted a fiddle player just from memory and several people asked was it Pecker Dunne, which led me to looking him up, loving the piece I saw on him on Youtube and eventually painting him. I would like to paint him with the fiddle also eventually. The original painting is sold
